Crash Victim's Headstone Is Repossessed

From SFGATE.COM

(07-31) 10:39 PDT Springville, Utah (AP) --

The cemetery headstone for a teenager who died in a car wreck was repossessed after a $750 bill went unpaid.

"That's just business," said Linda Anderson of Memorial Art Monument. "If we give every stone to everybody, we'd be out of business. They'd repossess your car if you didn't make payments."

Brady Conger, 17, and two friends died when their car smashed into a sport utility vehicle a year ago Thursday.

Memorial Art said bills sent to one address were returned, and the business couldn't reach Brady's mother, who apparently had agreed last year to pay the balance. "The end result was that there was absolutely no one who I could talk to about this," owner Mike Anderson said.

Brady's classmates raised money to pay the bill, and the headstone will be installed again this week.

It would seem the hate-filled Fred Phelps has turned his attention to Ireland.

The Simpsons Movie

Am just back from watching The Simpsons Movie.

Yes, it is like watching a longer edition of the tv version, but that's not a bad thing.

The movie is funny. There are lots of laugh out loud parts. This was, however, helped by the fact that a woman a few rows in front had a hideous laugh.

It also had Spider-Pig:

Transformers is also opening this weekend. If you are torn between the two...go see Transformers first.

My Missus Loves A Big One

So it seems that someone on the pictures desk at Sky News is not as eagle eyed as they should be!

Thanks to MOD for pointing this beauty out:

Estudiantes del Español de la atención!

Spanish students on Grafton Street yesterday

Dear Spanish Students,

Recepción a Irlanda!

Please stop congregrating on the busy footpaths of our cities and towns.

Forty of you dont all have to stop en-masse to chat forcing the rest of us, including the pram-pushers, out onto the road. Please move yourselves and your over-packed yellow back-packs onto one of our many greens, squares and other large empty public spaces.

Also, twelve of you sitting on the stairs in department stores is not safe. If you are there the next time I go to Urban Outfitters, I will kick you. And I have big feet.

Ése es todo!

Adiós mis amigos!

Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple

Saw the trailer for this show when I was in the USA lately. Seems to be a lot of hype about Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In The World over there and it looks quite funny!

This should make for interesting reading....

David Beckham starts LA blog

David Beckham has marked his move to America by starting a blog about his new life in Los Angeles.

The footballer has moved to the US along with wife Victoria and their three children so he can join soccer team LA Galaxy.

Beckham has written a message to his fans to keep them updated on what he is doing Stateside.

The first installment reads: "After four years in Madrid, I’d just like to say thank you to the people there and Real Madrid fans for being absolutely incredible, not only to me, but to my family as well. I was so happy to be able to leave having given the fans something to celebrate by helping to win La Liga.

"I am now moving on to an exciting new challenge at the LA Galaxy. So far, everyone has been amazing, and my family and myself have been made to feel extremely welcome.

"I now have a great opportunity to raise the profile of football in America, (or soccer I should say!) and that’s something I’m genuinely excited about."
